I am so addicted to this song right now. I can’t even figure out which part of the title is his name. I assume the first two Korean characters. But I make a lot of assumptions. Like, say, cheese is really moldy milk. Just very tasty moldy milk.

One word: dragon.

Dear Writers … (#3)

Writers write books. Plural. … If you are a writer, you are a writer. For life. It consumes a pretty big part of your identity. Writing books, like having kids, isn’t really a sideline. It’s not a list item. It’s a way of living.

Sellers, Heather. Chapter by Chapter, (Ch. 2, pg. 24)

Like Heather Sellers says, why would you want to write just ONE book? Do you start a cafe and open it for ONE day? Do you train years in sports to play ONE match? Do you go through years of medical school and perform ONE surgery? Writing is not a sideline list item, but a way of living, just like any sport, job, or hobby. Approach it like you’re training to be a world champion. Practice, then practice some more. Then enter that wrestling ring and write something. Again, and again, and again …

Absolutely breathtaking. :O

boredom + addiction = …
Yeah. Leafy was bored. And was playing Starry Sky. Then it occurred to leafy … what if otome.girly ever goes down?? The Starry Sky guides would be lost! Forever!! And isn’t it more convenient to have all of their info in one image? Isn’t it?!?
Of course it is.
Therefore, with the help of otome, screenshots, and wikipedia, Leafy painstakingly put this together in about an hour. Now, I know what you’re about to say. “An hour?!? This piece of crap?? I could have done it in 10 minutes!” Now, you have to bear in mind, Leafy is super, super anal about things. Which means everything must be the same size, must be the same font, and absolutely, without exception, must be aligned. Everything.
So there you have it. Hope this comes in useful for some peeps.
As an aside, please note that Engrish names are typed in the way Engrish would say ‘em. That is, first name then last name. Japanese remains Japanese though, and has the last name first, as is standard.
Not taking credit for this since all I did was put all the info together. If you need any guides for otome games, please check out otome.girly.jp, it’s a very helpful site, and relatively easy to navigate even if you don’t know much Japanese (though I assume you at least know some if you’re playing this game…). :3

Dear Writers … (#2)

I want the writer to make me suspend my disbelief; I want to be in some other place and scene of the writer’s devising.

- John D. MacDonald.

As James Scott Bell says (who quotes this in his book), “we must weave a dreamscape for our readers.” Don’t make excuses like “that’s too outrageous” or “they’d never believe that.” Given a bit of reasoning, readers will swallow it whole. So let your imagination run wild, and write whatever dream you think up. That’s why we love to write, after all.

Dear Writers … (#1)

Slow is the new fast…Time-soaked writing is good writing.

Sellers, Heather. Chapter by Chapter, (Ch. 5, pg. 40)

Your book needs two years, not two months, to grow. Slowing down brings out the wonderful, deep taste that cannot be brought out with a quick pan-fry. Give it time, constantly working on it patiently and slowly. The conveniences of technology cannot speed up the process of writing.
